Export CultureWe need to start export culture in Pakistan. Each one of us must under take logistical steps to pave the way for promoting Export culture. In this respect a strategic in needed to be prepared. Some guideline in this respect is offered as under: Government LevelOur Govt. must come out with an “Economic Priority Plan”. This must contain export culture promotion as priority No.1. Export processing zones should immediately be allowed to be set up in each Divisional Headquarters of all provinces of Pakistan. Business Associations National role ought to become chamber of commerce and industry, trade associations, stock exchange and all other business association. Special section must be opened. Human Resource DevelopmentA reasonable effort is going o at Government, public and private levels of conducting management development programs for development potential exporters.
Suggested Action – Nine Points Strategy 1) PRIORITYPriority number one must be given to a quantum jump in exports as part sound total economic planning. 2) SHARE IN WORLD EXPORTSWe ought to spell out our higher share in the world of exports. This should be done in a suggested manner with an accelerated approach. 3) REGIONAL SETTINGA practical action for increasing inters SAARC and intra SAARC be prepared to promote exports. 4) NICHE MARKETFish as a niche market can be tried. Our coastal belt is fairly big and we can translate this into our advantage. 5) EXPORTABLE SURPLUSA break through must be made to ensure a quantum jump in exportable surplus so That export led growth concept can be translated in reality.
6) DIVERSIFICATIONDiversification in respect of commodities and destination ought to be our goal. 7) EXPORT CULTUREReady made Garments Exports must be pushed. Value addition, through an enlightened industrial policy is followed. Superior quality with high value products is followed to boost exports. ISO 9000 via TQM should be achieved for meeting international standards
8) EXPORT CULTUREConcerted efforts must be made to help promote export culture on war footing.
9) NEW BREEDNew breed of exporters be developed through HR-development efforts.
